Girl Child Training & Development:
Children Welfare Association Fund Kenya (CWAF-K) in collaboration with Saidia Furaha Children’s Home-Kitengela is running a two years training program aimed at empowering vulnerable girls who are orphans, victims of violence and other social atrocities such as early marriages, ethnic conflicts etc.
The two-year program involves intensive training in tailoring, dress making and ICT( computer lessons) targeting girls between the ages of 12-15 years. Saidia Furaha Children’s home provides the training facilities and accommodation for the girls during the entire training period.
- To empower vulnerable girls by equipping them with skills for self-reliance
- To develop self-employment capacity
- To alleviate poverty by building strong capacity for income generation.
- To combat illiteracy
- To promote decent livelihood alternatives that shield against social ills such as drug abuse, prostitution, early child marriages etc
Through the kind support of well-wishers, the organization’ is currently training 25 girls. In order to accomodate more needy girls in the program thus accomplishing the targeted number of 50 gils, the organization through Children Welfare Association Fund Kenya (CWAF-K) is kindly requesting for support from donors and other well-wishers.
